We are delighted to be working with Eurocol and MC Surfaces to bring Liquid Design a seamless, sustainable, alternative to poured resin flooring to the UK market.
This innovative product uses a combination of cork, wood dust, linseed oil and bio polymers, to create a poured floor that doesn’t cost the earth.
Over the coming months we will be working with clients, Architects and designers who care about the future to see how this sustainable product can help decision makers improve their decision making and lessen the impact of seamless flooring on the environment.
There’s an excellent new espresso bar in Barry at the Pumphouse.
Apart from the great coffee they also serve craft beer and cocktails, so we will certainly be regular visitors.
On this project we helped with the construction of a concrete style bar top and a large concrete style sharing table. Using Solacir® Interiors Microscreed as a lightweight overlay it is possible to construct a table or bartop out of timber and encapsulate it in a concrete finish, ready for polishing and sealing.
Once polished the clear polyurethane sealers are applied to the surface which is ideal for a working countertop that will be exposed to spills from coffee, wine etc
We have been at our most creative to help transform the shop space at Bailey & Nelson’s new Clapham store in to a smart new boutique.
The building had an old timber floor, so needed a structural dry screed board installing over floor joists to ensure our MC Poured Solo resin flooring could be applied seamlessly to the entire floor. A robust solution for a busy retail space.
New plaster stud walls were coated with Solacir® Interiors Microscreed to give them a solid concrete look and our design flair allowed different coloured icons to be stencilled within the wall surface.
The combination of contemporary resin flooring and the mineral finish of the walls creates a subtle background to show off the stylish eyewear on offer at Bailey & Nelson.
Floored Genius have been involved with London’s first “cycle-in office”; the Alphabeta Building, which is a nine storey, 220,000 square foot refurbished building located between Shoreditch and the City of London.
It is great to be able to work close to home, but this one is literally just a stones throw away. We love old industrial buildings and were delighted when we heard that The Pumphouse in Barry was going to be redeveloped, as it is an iconic building.
So it became a mission to get some of our decorative concrete Microscreed in to the building and we are very grateful that the developer gave us the opportunity to apply this versatile product to the walls in some of the exclusive private apartments.
There is still a bit of work to be done, but the high standard of finishing will ensure that this project is a great success.
This is one of our favourite projects, not just because it is close to home and the coffee, cakes and ice creams are fabulous, but because we tried something different and it worked really well.
A decorative concrete floor finish at Bay 5 Coffee was engineered to suit a tight budget, a quick turnaround and a rustic design that would complement the interior of this converted lifeguard station right on the beach front of Barry Island.
Definitely worth a visit this summer if you are visiting South Wales.
Our latest Solacir Interiors Microscreed floor has been installed at the new Toms store just off Carnaby Street in London.
We are delighted to have worked with a such progressive company as Toms and encourage everyone who visits to see a Microscreed floor to buy something, even if it is just a coffee to earn the benefit of there ‘one to one’ charity scheme.
It is hard to tell from the finished photos, but the existing floor is not solid, it is a suspended floor on timber joists. Floored Genius’ technical expertise has enabled us to engineer a solution to give the client a floor with a solid concrete finish.
Refurbishment projects can be tricky, so a versatile material like Solacir Interiors’ Microscreed is ideal for an old building in London with an existing timber floor that requires a contemporary concrete finish.
Only Solacir Interiors Microscreed has enough tensile strength to be laid on to suspended substrates. Don’t be fooled by cheap imitations !
We’ve had a great time up in Walthamstow working with estate agents Andrew and Kenny – aka the Stow Brothers – to create a gorgeous floor for their stylish new offices.
The concrete Microscreed finish complements the modern aesthetic of the space and is designed to stand up to the rigours of a full-time working environment without wearing down or becoming shabby:
We wanted to create a professional, contemporary environment that had a bit of an ‘edge’ to it. The Microscreed looked so good with the exposed brickwork in the walls – it really completed the style we were going for, and the installation process was so simple. We love it!

When we started the job it took a lot of work to even out the floor; it needed preparation with diamond grinders and an epoxy primer along with our Microscreed system. But we managed to get the whole thing done as quickly and painlessly as possible in time for their grand opening last month.
You can find more images of the work we’ve done with Andrew and Kenny along with some other of our designs and ideas on our Pinboard.
